When Keighyn was born we were ecstatic to finally have our June baby! Finally outdoor parties & so many options for birthday celebrations, because let’s be honest, there’s no snow in June. I spent her first year planning the best birthday celebration for her. A big outdoor shindig at our house with moon bounces, water games, music, friends & family. My creative side ran wild, maybe a little too wild. Huge plans and big dreams. So on June 14th when our sweet sparkle turned the big ONE, we were on the road driving home. From the beach. What?!? Well, I totally wrecked the idea of a huge celebration. Little did I know or realize that June birthdays meant battling vacations and lack of guests due to their vacations. Ugh. #mommyfail .
But I wanted redemption. So the following week, we were headed to Georgia with my family and I was determined to make sure we celebrated her birthday and that the world knew it was her birthday. I ordered a cute little cake from a local bakery down there. Spent money (and a lot of time) at Home Goods picking out the PERFECT CAKE STAND. Seriously. And I decided we needed to do 1st birthday photos on the beach. I packed the same outfit her sister wore 2 years earlier on the same beach, packed the cake stand and off we drove. Down. To. Georgia. For vacation…haha, no.. 1st birthday photos & celebration (I mean if we are being totally honest here).
And after 2 days of being there and following a rain storm… Cake By The Ocean was born. Here is the first segment of her life documentary Cake By The Ocean.
Now, this cutie just celebrated her 2nd birthday. So that means Cake By the Ocean Part II is right around the corner.
